West Cumbria Community Cinema Projects
Eight village halls supported through funding-led upgrades, each quoted and delivered individually to meet local needs while maintaining a consistent, practical approach to operation and handover.
- Challenge
- Rural venues needed reliable cinema capability and wider digital infrastructure—operable by volunteer teams and adaptable for multi-use spaces. Accessibility requirements, including hearing loop integration, were also important to support inclusive audience experiences and align with funding expectations.
- Delivered
- Community cinema systems plus wider venue upgrades (lighting, CCTV, Wi-Fi/infrastructure as required), with commissioning, documentation and training. Hearing loop integration and compatibility were included where required to support accessible programming and wider community participation.
- Outcome
- Eight halls now fully equipped to host screenings and broader community programming with greater confidence and capability, with systems designed to be sustainable, accessible and manageable for volunteer teams over the long term.
